Undergraduate Students outside

International Students who have completed higher secondary education, have been conferred a high school diploma and have never attended college/university are considered freshman for admissions.

Admission Requirements 

  • Application form and Application Fee $35.00.
  • High school GPA of 2.0/4.0 (US grading scale).
  • Copy of Passport.
  • Copy of financial document (financial statement and letter) stating a balance of at least $30,500.
  • If credentials are in a language other than English they must be translated by the institution itself or approved translation services.
  • At least one standardized test score such as ACT/SAT/ TOEFL/ IELTS/iTEP/PTE.
  • Proof of English Proficiency. (In addition to TOEFL/IELTS/iTEP/PTE, the ACT/SAT can satisfy proof of english proficiency requirement).

Admission Steps

  • Complete Application form
  • Pay application fee of $35.00 online.
  • Submit official copy of high school transcript and diploma in issuing institution’s sealed envelope.
  • Email a copy of passport.
  • Email a copy of financial document (financial statement and letter).
  • Submit at least one standardized test score such as ACT/SAT/ TOEFL/ IELTS/iTEP/PTE.
  • Submit proof of English Proficiency score.

Note: Test scores must be received directly from the testing center.

International Students who have attended college/university for a bachelor’s degree or diploma course after completion of Higher Secondary Education are considered transfer students for admissions. Even if you have attended college/university for one semester, you should apply as a transfer undergraduate.

Admission Requirement for students with college work in the United States

  • Application form and Application Fee $35.00.
  • College GPA of 2.0/4.0 (GPA used is that which is computed by JSU).
  • At least one of the standardized test score and copy of high school transcripts if transferring less than 24 credit hours of college coursework.
  • Copy of Passport.
  • Copy of financial document (financial statement and letter) stating a balance of at least $30,500. Required balance amount will be less if student is awarded scholarship. 
  • Sponsorship letter from sponsor stating relationship and his/her willingness to cover the cost of attendance.
  • Transfer Clearance form.
  • Must be eligible to re-enter all institutions previously attended.

Admission Steps

  • Complete Application form
  • Pay application fee of $35.00 online.
  • Request your institution to send your transcript directly to JSU. If you have attended multiple institutions, you must request all previously attended institutions to send your transcripts directly to JSU. 
  • Email a copy of passport.
  • Email a copy of financial document (financial statement and letter) stating a required balance. 
  • Email a copy of your sponsorship letter. 
  • Contact your International Student Advisor and submit a Transfer Clearance form.

Note: If your transfer credits are less than 24 credit hours, you must,

  • Report at least one of the standardized test score, test score must be received directly from the testing center. 
  • Email copy of your high school transcripts and diploma. 

Admission Requirement for students with college work outside the United States. 

  • Application form and Application Fee $35.00.
  • High school GPA of 2.0/4.0 (US grading scale).
  • College GPA of 2.0/4.0 (US grading scale). GPA used is that which is computed by JSU.
  • Proof of English Proficiency test scores. 
  • Copy of Passport.
  • Copy of financial document (financial statement and letter) stating a balance of at least $30,500.
  • If credentials are in a language other than English, they must be translated by the institution itself or approved translation services.
  • Course-by-Course evaluation report on any international coursework completed at the College/University level. JSU accepts transcript evaluated by any NACES member agency. https://www.naces.org/members
  • Must be eligible to re-enter all institutions previously attended.

  • Request an official copy of college transcript to be sent directly to JSU in issuing institution’s sealed envelope.
  • Request NACES member agency to send an official copy of course by course evaluation report directly to JSU. 
  • Email a copy of passport.
  • Email a copy of financial document (financial statement and letter) stating a balance of at least $30,500.
  • Request an official copy of proof of English Proficiency test score. Test score must be received directly from the testing center.

Note: If your transfer credits are less than 24 credit hours, you must,

  • Report at least one of the standardized test score, test score must be received directly from the testing center.

International Students who will be attending JSU for a semester or a year as non-degree seeking students are considered exchange students. International Students from JSU’s partner institutions are welcome to apply as undergraduate students once they receive approval from their home institutions.

Admission Requirements

  • Application form and Application fee of $35.00. Email intladmissions@jsu.edu to check on waiver of this fee.
  • College GPA of 2.0/4.0 (US grading scale).
  • Nomination letter from home institution/university.
  • Copy of Passport.
  • Copy of financial document (financial statement and letter) stating a balance of at least $30,500. Amount to be shown on the financial document will vary based on the agreement signed between student’s home institution and JSU.
  • If credentials are in a language other than English they must be translated by the institution itself or approved translation services.

  • Submit official copy of college transcript in issuing institution’s sealed envelope.
  • Email a copy of nomination letter from your home institution/university.
  • Email a copy of passport.
  • Email a copy of financial document (financial statement and letter).
  • Email a list of approved courses to be taken at JSU. Students will need to consult with home institution and send the list of Course Names, Codes and Sections of at least 8-10 courses. View the JSU Class Schedule for a complete list of courses being offered at JSU.

International transient students are non-degree-seeking students at JSU, taking courses for personal enrichment and/or to transfer to the institution where the degree is being pursued. International transient students planning to transfer JSU credits to another institution should consult the appropriate dean or registrar to determine the acceptability of the JSU work to the institution where the degree is being pursued.

Admission Requirements 

  • Application form and Application Fee $35.00.
  • Official transcript
  • Copy of passport and visa page
  • Letter from Designated School Official (DSO) at current institution verifying the immigration status and stating that the immigration record is to be maintained by that institution
  • Transient support letter from advisor

Admission Steps

  • Complete Application form
  • Pay application fee of $35.00 online.
  • Submit official transcript. (Transcript must be sent directly by the current institution)
  • Submit a copy of passport and visa page.
  • Submit Transient letter from advisor and Letter from DSO.

Complete this application if one of the following is true:

  • You were admitted to JSU for a previous term, and did not attend.
  • You have only attended JSU as a dual enrollment student.
  • You have previously attended JSU and earned credit as an undergraduate student.
